Agenda

The aim is to have the car completed for testing by June 21 (1.5 weeks away). The race is June 28 (2.5 weeks away).

General

Perhaps we need to find ways to even further modularize the project so we can work more independently to meet these deadlines? For example, lots can be done on the wheels independent of the chassis. The motor controller is a fairly independent project. Once the mounting plate location and size of the motors is decided, motors, motor controller and wheels can do 90% of their work independent of the chassis.

Scheduling, meetings, etc.

  • John is out of town June 13 through the 15th.

Chassis

Design

  • Discussion of driver position
    • feet
    • windshield
    • steering column
  • Design for plate where motors go
  • Design (and tray?) for where batteries go

Build

  • Finish welding
  • Complete Steering

Back Wheels

  • replace bearings
  • add gear

Front Wheels

  • replace bearings
  • add disc brake

Motors

  • add gear
    • re-measure DD motor shaft
  • Mounting to plate (depends on Chassis)

Motor Controller

  • need 2

Batteries

Batteries are prohibitively expensive for us. Right now there are no solid solutions on the table.

Stuff we need

  • more bicycle chain
  • more bicycle gears (we have a lot but they are mostly the same size)
    • bicycle sprockets?
  • wire of appropriate gauge for the motor and batteries
