Pancakebot

The Pancakebot is a 3D printing device for printing pancakes on the attached griddle.

• Suggested pancake mix is one that has all the ingredients but water (like Hungry Jack Complete.)

• The mix needs to be made up in small batches as it will tend to get either too flat or too fluffy just sitting around.
• Make the mix as recommend on the box
• Always be aware of the orientation of the bottle when using it. (Don't let pancake batter get in the small tube from the pump.)
• The pancakebot is stored in the Breakroom in the bottom shelf next to the fridge in a large plastic box. All components should be in the box except the following: Pancake Mix, Water, Mixing bowl, bowl with pour spout, mixing spoon and a spatula. (These you will need to provide or find in the breakroom.
• Suggested topping is nothing or something easy like grape jelly.

Process

1. Check that you have all parts and ingredients: Water, Pancake Mix, strainer, mixing bowl, bowl with pour spout (or a measuring cup), 1 cup measuring cup, 1/4 cup measuring cup, mixing spoon, pancakebot 3d printing base, pancakebot griddle, pancakebot printing head/arm, pancakebot bottle (4 parts spout, screw ring, bottle, bottle top),the tiny silicone spout lid, spatula, and an SD card with pancake files.
2. Start the griddle so it will be warm.
3. Mix pancake mix. It should look like batter (or a milk shake).
4. Strain the pancake batter with the strainer into the bowl with a pour spout. (Mush through any lumps.)
5. Put the bottle together if it isn't already and put the tiny silicone lid on it.
6. Unscrew the black cap and carefully pour the batter into the bottle. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAX FILL. (When it pumps the batter will expand.)
7. Keeping the bottle upright at all times, plug in the thin tube into the top.
8. Put the SD card into the pancakebot and turn on the pancakebot. (It should start suction in the bottle and boot up the bot.)
9. Take the little cap off of the bottle. It shouldn't leak if the pump is working.
10. Press the down arrow on the bot and select the files (You will have to press the down button several times.)
11. Choose the file you want to print, then press the start.
12. Check to see when the Working light turns off. That is when the print is finished. Often it will wait for the pancake to cook so you may wonder if it is done or not... the Working light is the key.
13. Turn the pancake the old fashioned way with the spatula.
14. Wait about 30 seconds or so for the other side to cook and then plate your pancake.

To repeat:

1. If needed, make up more mix and strain it or grab the remaining mix
2. Put the lid on the bottle and remove the tube from the top.
3. Pour in pancake mix to the fill line.
4. Put the tube back in the top and put it in the bottle holder on the arm
5. Take off the tiny spout lid.
6. Choose a new pancake and print as before

If you run out of batter in the middle of a print

1. Press the pause button
2. Put the tiny lid on
3. Remove the tube from the top
4. Add batter to fill line
5. Put the tube back in (careful to not tip bottle)
6. Remove the tiny lid
7. Press start

Cleanup

• Clean all components
  • Wipe down the griddle
  • Clean out the griddle tray
  • Wipe off the outside of the pancakebot
  • Take the bottle apart and clean it
  • Wash all dishes and the strainer
• Dry all components
• Put the items back in the plastic box that are listed on the lid of the plastic box
