LASER Cutter Certification

It will be necessary to be trained in the LASER Cutter Basics Class to get a full understanding of the design and use of the LASER cutter.

• These classes are presented to teach several people at a time, however because of the hands on portion of the class, the class will not contain more than 5 students at a time.

  • Proper use and control of the LASER cutter
  • Discussion of the software that creates the files and how the files are accessed on the LASER cutter
  • What is expected of each user of the LASER cutter
  • How to troubleshoot problems and report problems that cannot be resolved
• LASER cutter instructors teach the LASER Cutters Basics class and certify that they have covered the material and validate all of the above using the LASER cutter certification form
  • LASER Cutter Certification form
  • The form will be signed and dated by the member who just got certified
  • The form will be signed and dated by the LASER cutter instructor
  • The form will be retained by MakeICT
  • The new certified member will be entered on the FabLab LASER Cutter certified user section on the Wiki
• It is the responsibility of all certified LASER cutter users to review any published information at the LASER cutter area
• It is the responsibility of all certified LASER cutter users to update their certification if there are any changes that require any new forms to be signed
• Failure to comply with the LASER cutter certification rules could have their certification revoked
