Garden Committee May 1 2002

Members in attendance: Sean Sandefur, Ethan Doak, Sarah Denton, Brad Cozine, Sherry Ibrahim, Aaron Rivers

Assignment of raised beds and plots established, map created.

12’ Communal Bed dedicated for FarmBot project to be headed by Ethan and Brad. According to Wikipedia: “FarmBot is an open source precision agriculture CNC farming project consisting of a Cartesian coordinate robot farming machine, software and documentation including a farming data repository. The project aims to "Create an open and accessible technology aiding everyone to grow food and to grow food for everyone.”

Rustin has offered us 100 linear feet of 4 foot tall picket fence (still needs to be removed from site), decided to make a pen for the compost pile with this fencing once acquired.

Sherry has committed to donate the 8’ t-posts needed to properly support the chain-link fence along the garden’s south border.

If by July 1 2022 we have rented all or near all of the garden plots we will ask for another 20’ of the MakeICT yard to the south of the existing garden.

Decided to use area within sidewalk directly south of room 3 for a pollinator garden.

Will call for sculptures in a forum post.

Decided that plastic sheeting for solarization and greenhouse construction is a priority, and will buy as soon as possible.
