Attending:

  • Paul Shackleford
  • Gemma Blackburn
  • Steve Owens

Signage:

Lots of discussion about signage, Still need to put the wifi credentials on the wall somewhere - people ask for this often.

Identified a need to put some QR codes and use information on equipment, linking to wiki pages.

Talked about signage along the wall behind the 3D printers, including:

  • How to get authorized
  • Paying for prints
  • 3D printer group info
  • Guidelines for using the printers

Updates to the wiki:

The Fab Lab wiki pages need some updates.

Description of the area describes the area as it was in the old building. New area is ≈775 sqft

Some equipment needs added and some new pages are needed (pages needed for the vacuum former, Little Blue Mill, plastic injection molding machine). Some equipment is decommissioned (old 3D printers, CNCs) and should be noted as such on the wiki.

Paul S. updated the area description and made a decommissioned equipment list. Gemma added some equipment photos and started pages for the vacuum former and little blue mill.

Still need a wiki page for the Kinect 3D scanner & turntable, which James recently fixed and tested.

The foam cutter wiki page could use some updates. Maybe archive the old instructions in the Google drive instead of leaving them on the wiki because it looks confusing. Also - foam cutter needs fixed. Who has the knowledge to do this?

Access Policies:

Maybe need an update? Hasn’t been an update since 2/5/2017. Didn’t go into any details. Talked a bit about having approved peer-authorizers for the 3D printers instead of letting anyone do it.
