This piece of equipment should always be considered calibrated. The readings on the panel meters are for reference only. The system operates by setting a voltage clamp, and a current clamp. it is advisable to set both to the far counterclockwise position before turning on the supply. Then move the voltage to it's desired level. finally slowly increase the current to either a comfortable operational level, the point at which it clamps, or the device catches fire.
